josep anton garcia's SoundClick blog - If Angels could mourn
If Angels could mourn
Things often come out of nowhere, without premeditation ... but then those who had no prior intention, that sum total of a bit chosen at random, without knowing why, when they are charged together in a whole new meaning to accurately target a feeling, an emotion, an idea . This topic has been exactly that. They were experimenting with sound (like many other times), with Gregorian voices that sounded to me more than anything celestial, a piano reverb, and then asked me to develop staccato strings and some drums, besides a serious pedal is held throughout the play. When he was around before the finishing touches, the idea came to me "If angels cry, what would happen?". If those that hold the heavens (as they say) give way to pain and crying for so much violence, so hatred, injustice, what would happen? It would be like this sound? Pain would be unleashed as the thunder? The English translation much refining the concept ... asking my translator preferred as it would write, I indicated that the subjunctive in English, is a bit difficult for the spanish people. The idea rennet in a "could mourn," which is something like "could grieve." The pieces fit together ... If the angels could grieve, maybe something like this would sound in the event that our eardrums could bear.
