Claes Norden's SoundClick blog - Completely you
Completely you
After a couple of years with fading inspiration I have managed to write and produce a new song. Here it is - Completely you.

Part of my lack of inspiration is due to Soundclick's apparent stagnation, at least in terms of design and functionality development. I have the feeling that not many are really using it any longer. What about you others? Do you still find it alive and vital or do you know of some newer and better service/community?

You joined in 2006. I had my first account in 2006. Out of 601426 band pages you really have to participate and visit the sites of others and Comment. Some people just take the Comment and don't reciprocate. Reciprocation (or call it back scratching if you wish) is the key to being involved in what is still a very active circle of members on Soundclick. Soundclick Platform: It's been knowledge for years that it is a patchwork that would be very costly to renew; and if the TSB Bank in UK had such terrible problems recently what chance would Soundclick have if it all went badly wrong. They couldn't call in the team from IBM and spend millions with them as TSB did. These guys are custodians of over 5 million MP3s!! There are little flaws in the system, but I don't notice any further deterioration at present.

Thank you both for your replies. Yes I understand of course that you must be active yourself, and I have had a lot of wonderful exchange with others here during my years here. I was more looking at Soundclick from the outside: how many in the music world such as your friends, music columnists and music interested people in general know of it? Very few it seems to me. The above mentioned illustrates my observation a bit: it has in fact much less functionality than Soundclick but still it is a service that ordinary people and musicians in general often know of. And I think it gives an impression of stagnation here at Sundclick when for instance the menu link "Forum" above for years now have resulted in a pop-up window saying "Sorry the forum has been discontinued".

Hi Claes!

Well, I have to admit that me too I didn´t partecipate so often in Soundclick for the last time, due to some life treats that I had to consider first before I came back to Soundclick. I don´t think, anyway, that soundclick should move forward with whatever else to animate more people to partecipate. It depends only on the "will" that every one of us own (or not) to be engaged on the vividness of Soundclick. I mean, it has not to do with software/apps/features/players, but with our readyness to chat/exchange/report with other Soundclick friends.

I know that I could do more myself, but it is not possible at the moment, and so I am very grateful for every message I get from my good old SC friends here, you too of course, this is what really counts for me, honestly, this is what I still get here and don´t want to miss it..... despite all the rankings and how good people know Soundclick.

The forum are us, we soundclick friends, we can chat, listen to music, exchange our experiences ( not only based on music ), and so on, report about new works and tracks that we have produced or we have listened to...

So I wish Soundclick will stay the way it is, being a free platform for music lovers: just my opinion of course, may be I am old fashioned, who knows, but I consider Soundclick my second family!! big grin :D big grin :D

Cheers to the music, -Spin-

I understand what you're saying. There was once a lot of station managers on this site when I first came here (just plain listeners) I do hope that changes. so much wonderful music here <3

We are actually going to roll out the new SoundClick version 4 later this week. We are really excited about this! Our goal was to make the site easier to navigate, the functions easier to use (even for first-timers), to enhance the networking and community feel that separates us from other sites. For the artists we try to present their music in the best way possible and to set a focus on potentially selling their music. There are so many listeners out there willing to support independent artists.

The overall design of SoundClick 4 strives to be much less cluttered and to flow more naturally. And obviously to present an updated look, which is hopefully pretty timeless.

Thank you all for staying with us for so long! I know all your names from before actually. smile :)
