The Willis emerged in December 2002 out of the monastic isolation of Oshkosh, Wisconsin, and consists of longtime friends and periodic bandmates from, “Congratulations on Your Decision to Become a Pilot,” and “Cookie Bug,” just to name a few. The sound is pop inflected but resists sonic, tonal & rhythmic conventions with orchestral arrangements that don’t sacrifice the rock. We play a variety of genres, including catchy pop/rock, instrumentals that are all over the place, and even the occaisional stab at metal. We are even known to Karate Explosion! is our name. We like to rock and do so in a variety of ways, from catchy straightforward (but with a unique flair of originality) rock songs to instrumental rock songs to the occasional wierd, undefinable song.
