Music is My Life
Retired from Clearwater Paper after 38.94 years as Their Senior Mechanic. I would have received a watch, but that was discontinued a while back to save the company money as was a lot of other forms of recognition and goodwill. So I just took my company retirement, 401K, severance pay, and retired. Thank you to the union, officers, and employees that stuck with us. I tried to represent you, and negotiate in your best interest. To the free riders we leave what is left. Most of you have never had to walk a picket line or march against dogs, police, company hired security, or any of those things we sacrificed and fought for. I wish you luck and the best and hope you can figure it out for yourselves. I have been a week-end entertainer for over 40 years, now I only book about three full time jobs (clubs & honky tonks) a month. I book about three nursing homes a month. I use these places to try out new material for my shows I also love the audiences and fans that come to the nursing homes. I'm a member of the Western Music Association. I also serve as president of Christian Cowboy Balladeers and President of Palouse Cowboy Poets Association. I now own a 24 track digital recording studio and I take collage courses in business. I am an agent orange disabled veteran with a grand son that just came home from combat; third generation Marine in combat. I am a proud grandpa.

Next big show is the ongoing "Corrido Project" at Boise State University on September 8, 2012. This is our third year of putting on that program to celebrate the Latin influence in Idaho in the last 150 years.

The new year is getting busy, club dates are coming in as well as a few Cowboy Gatherings, and Blue Grass concerts as well. Tomorrow 2-3-12 we will be busy raising money for our local food bank. I would like to thank all the artists that take time off their busy schedule to help us with this worthwhile event. 100% of the proceeds got to the food bank no artist takes any king of the gate home. This is musicians giving back to the community. Thank you and God Bless

New Years was a kick. Good fun and great crowd at the Moose Lodge. I'm glad to be booked back in there and look forward to seeing all the old crowd and some new faces. Shaping up to be a great year.

Just when you think everyone has forgotten you the phones start to ring. Thank you to all the honky tonks, clubs and concert promoters that still remember me. A special thanks to Joni Harms and all her support. Please visit her site at www.joniharms.com and leave her a comment. She is overseas on a tour, but she will read her comments.

Second week into my retirement and I think I can get used to this. I have two of my four boats ready for the fishing and camping and two to go. My 65 4dr. Falcon is just about ready to drive; I have missed not having it to drive around. My 2dr 65 Falcon will be next. I will be going to Cowboy Festivals this summer. I just want to enjoy retirement for a while. The club project is well on it's way. We are just waiting for the bank's OK. Hope your summer is shaping up well for you and we will se you down the road.
