Latina is more than her name, it is part of her DNA. For as long as she can remember, music has been in her heart and soul. At the age of 5, she knew she wanted to be a singer and meet the late great Michael Jackson.
At the age of 11, Latina made her musical debut to family and friends by performing ‘For You I will’ by Monica, one of her biggest musical inspirations. She credits her love of music to traditional R&B singers like Monica, but is also greatly influenced by Billie Holiday, Luther Vandross, Cartel, Brad Paisley and Adele. She describes herself as a ‘weirdo’ in the industry because, unlike many artists on the scene today, she writes the types of songs that most are afraid to sing. She can play instruments by ear and sings and writes everything from British Pop to Country.
In her quest for musical superstardom, Latina has traveled up and down the East Coast, which contributes greatly to her sounds and experience. Being in girl groups as a child has given her the experience to work well with and collaborate with all kinds of artists. Her sassy and risk-taking nature not only shows in her music, but in her everyday life as well.
