SPC Theodis R Jones Jr. was born on Oct. 26, 1982 in Monroe, Louisiana,and raised in grambling louisiana.In his early years he was very athletic,and played many sports.Theodis jr also showed an interest in art at an early age taking after his father who was also a talented artist.theodis was very shy and quiet ,but had many friends because of his unique skills.He went to high school at grambling high school in north louisiana ,but graduated from gulf shores academy in houston .After high school theodis went to dallas with his mother, where He sold his art work,recorded music and poetry.He joined the Army on March 25, 2004 and was sent to Ft. Jackson, South Carolina for (BCT)Basic Training. After Basic Training he was sent to Ft. Lee, VA. for (AIT)advanced individual training as a 92A automated lagistical specialist. SPC Jones first place of duty was with the 980th Eng Reserve Unit in Dallas now located in killeen TX, where he stayed for one year before going to active duty. On June 21 2005, he arrived at his active duty unit, assigned to the 46th ENG. ECB(H) HSC S-4 as an automated logistical specialist. On Oct. 3 2005, he was deployed to Ar Ramadi, Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. While deployed he was assigned to the class 4 yard which consists of biulding material ,that he helped build from the ground up.Shortly after redeployment He went to worrier leadership course in Jan 2007,then from June-Aug he was assigned to west point NY to assist in training cadets.Theodis also entered his artwork into the army art contest in 2007 winning first place at fortpolk and moving on to win first place army wide out of over 1,000 pices of art , holding the title of the best artist in the army. On June 12,2008 he was deployed to Baghdad for 16 months .As the redeployment came theodis jr was assigned to a diffrent company within the 46th engineers ,178th Co. with orders for forthood ,three months later PCS ing to 509th fsc on west fort hood for three more years.
