Witty, unpredictable and intense describes the raw musical talent of rapper and songwriter "Mic Lido aka Midas the Great". Born January 16th under the astrological sign of Capricorn, Lawrence, was given the rap name "Midas" by his sister. The name "Midas" originated from the childhood story of "King Midas" whose touch turned objects golden, hence "Midas the Great". Midas is regarded as one of the hottest up and coming artist out of the city of Richmond.
As a youth, Midas, traveled often before finally settling in Virginia with his mother and two siblings. It was there when Midas' first influence, his younger brother Troy, began writing. Impressed with Troy's talent level propelled Midas to write. Midas has several musical influences, such as Outkast, UGK, Nas, Wu Tang, Tupac and Biggie, but Troy is his biggest!
Rap, for Midas, started in high school where he began as a member of former group Dessert Eagles, consisting of himself, his brother Troy and cousin Chris. He was also a member of K.O.C. ( knights Of The Cypher). Midas has auditioned for BET Teen Summit and has also performed at several local venues.
