I'm a Manchester based singer songwriter that draws on a wide range of influences. My songs come from the heart and are mainly autobiographical. I started playing guitar age 11 and discovered I could sing by accident a few years later. I played in bands for years but only started to take my songwriting seriously about 5 years ago. When I write a song I can hear the whole arrangement in my head and picture myself playing in front of a huge crowd with the whole audience singing along to my anthems.
My one rule is that whatever I write has to sound good with either guitar or piano and vocals. If it stands up as a song stripped down to it's bare bones then it passes my quality test.
My material covers a wide range of styles and has rock, jazz, blues, country and soul influences. I don't try to write for a specific genre - I just let the ideas come and write about my life experiences.
My influences are wide and varied and range from bands like The Beatles and The Eagles to modern bands such as Foo Fighters and singer songwriters such as John Mayer.
It's taken me a while to mature as a songwriter but everyone who hears my songs seems to be blown away so I guess I'm on to something.
