Started Learning Guitar, At Age 14, Started Writing Songs And Music At 17. At That Time Living In Palmdale Calif. Wrote His First Instrumental For Guitar, (Sheet Music), While Taking A One Yr. Theory Course, (He Completed In 3 Months). The Song Was Called, Malibu, For Malibu Beach Calif.
This His Instructor, ( Toilet-Seat Charlie), Stated Was A Great Piece Of Music, And Couldn’t Believe James Had Done This From Taking Music For So Short A Time. His Instructor Ask If He Could Use It In His Night Club Show, And James Agreed To It, So From Then On It Was In The Show…
Malibu Was A Fast Rock Tune Very Close To Scuttle Buttin, That Stevie Ray Vaughan Recorded. Although With Just A Few Less Notes, Malibu Was Written By James In 1964. James Later Moved Back To GA , Joined A Few Bands And Wrote Many Songs…
James, Later In His Early 20’s Met And Later Married Sybil, And As Things Go They Wound Up In
Everett MA, Where They Both Worked And Wrote Songs And Continued To Perform At Local Clubs And Coffee Houses In And Around Boston. And They Formed, “Restless Spirit”
The Name Sybil Came Up With, The Name They Still Use Today. (Sybil Is From, MA).
They Joined The Boston Song Writers Workshop, The Folk Singers Society Of Greater Boston, The Nashville Songwriters Society, BMI, Helped Reorganize And Restart An Artist Management Co. Called Promotions Unlimited.
