Behind the Scenes at the Scarborough Fair video shoot
Jun 21, 2009
Hi all, We had a nice, productive day shooting a couple scenes for the Scarborough Fair music video. Some behind the scenes videos can be found on my WorldSings page as well as on my youtube channel: http://www.youtube.com/TiffanyApan They are also on Metacafe. One of the videos from the shoot is posted below:) Special thanks to Rowen Poole and Persephone's Dream for use of their backdrops! They really created a beautiful effect on Zane's camera and even looked pretty cool on my flip camera:) Hope you enjoyed your weekend:) Also, check out new reviews of 'Poet' at Luna Kafe and GrinsFromBelow ReviewZine!
On screen interviews, shows, airplay, internet, 2nd album, NYC videos
Jun 4, 2009
Hi everyone, We had a great show at the Annex in New York City and definitly plan to return to the area for the tour of my second album:) I'll also be doing my second on screen interview within the coming week (the first being with the Jay Rossi Project). A new internet/tv music station called Youngstown Music Scene Television has launched and we will be one of their first interviews. They will also play music videos too. Check out YMSTV at http://www.ymstv.com and/or http://www.myspace.com/ymstv We're really excited about playing the Dark Xmas film convention this year. This will be our second year playing this event. This year, we are very honored to be sharing the stage with G Tom Mac (responsible for the theme song to "The Lost Boys" and soundtracks for "Fast Times at Ridgemont High" among others) and First Jason (the band of Ari Lehman, the first Jason Voorhees in the Friday the 13th series). In addition to that, we will also be premiering two songs from my upcoming second album:) The two songs being previewed are Heart Song and The Scottish King's Wife. There are some more surprises for this show so stay tuned:) The event will take place at the Eastwood Expo Center in Niles, OH on September 18-20. More info on show times and such will be revealed soon. There is also more airplay for the music. Tracks from 'Poet' is now also being spun by Radio Ugly and Classic FM (Z889 WBZC). Radio Ugly is a predominantly Indie/Alternative Rock/Metal station. Right now, the only track being spun is 'Ghost' as we were having some computer issues with sending them some of the other songs; there will be more momentarily:) Classic FM-Z889 WBZC is a wonderful radio station on a mission since 1979 to sticking to the original idea of FM radio as being a more "free form" atmosphere as opposed to the now common commercial radio practice of only playing 'the hit single.' Classic FM plays a great variety of older bands and artists such as Jefferson Airplane, Yes, Genesis, The Doobie Brothers, Janis Joplin, Pink Floyd, to only name a few. They also play music from newer up and coming artists and bands such as Dream Aria, Trisha O'Keefe, and more. We're very proud to be added to the roster of such wonderful and esteemed musical groups. A big thank you goes out to the folks at Radio Ugly and Gene Godferey of Classic FM. You can check out these stations at the following links: Radio Ugly (also, don't forget to request 'Ghost' and soon the other songs from Poet to be spun on this station): http://www.radiougly.com Classic FM http://www.angelfire.com/music2/classicfm/ or http://www.myspace.com/classic_fm There are also a couple new internet sites. Terry Williams, of the music site ProAudioMusic, is now featuring me on the said website. Visit the page at http://www.proaudiomusic.org/tiffany.htm and also check the rest of the site out and the other great artists featured. And if you're a fan of classical music like I am, check out the ProAudioMusic sister site, Classical Matters, at http://www.classicalmatters.com A big thank you to Terry Williams:) You can also find me at the classical music based website Instant Encore at http://www.instantencore.com/Core/Contributor.aspx?CId=5134490 I also have another site on orgsites: http://www.orgsites.com/pa/tiffanyapan I can now say we have a full track lineup for the second album:) You can get more in depth coverage of the second album's progress by signing up for the mailing list on the front of my myspace page, or at my website: http://www.tiffanyapan.com There are new videos on my youtube channel of the New York show and a shout out video to MetalHead Radio TV (you can also see the shout out video at their website and they are also spinning the tracks from 'Poet'). Check them out at http://www.youtube.com/TiffanyApan Have a
New films, music video and second album updates, internet, May shows
May 2, 2009
Hi everyone, We have alot of great news for the month of May:) First off, the film "Heavy Mental" is making it's world premiere on May 14, 2009 at the Main Art Theatre in Royal Oak, Michigan. I have a funny cameo in this film by Silver Bullet Pictures. You can also pre-order the DVD off of the Silver Bullet Pictures website: http://www.silverbulletpictures.com The film also stars Monique Dupree, Lloyd Kaufman, and Brenna Roth. I must caution though that the film does have a good deal of violence in it and is probably not for the faint of heart. More info on the "Heavy Mental" premiere and other projects by Silver Bullet Pictures projects can be found on their website. I was also invited to join the cast of a new film entitled "The Girl" being filmed by Eerie Frequency Entertainment. The film will star Corey Haim (The Lost Boys, License to Drive, Crank: High Voltage). I'm not sure of my part yet, but we will keep you informed. Like the Recluse Pictures film "Dead of Winter" Jason and I recently shot parts for in New Jersey, "The Girl" might also include a track off of my album in the soundtrack. As I said, we will keep you informed:) We're shooting the final scene that needs to be shot for the 'Ashes to Dust' video today. We hope to have this video out by the beginning of June. Next week, we begin the Scarborough Fair video. We have talented makeup and special effects artist Sabrina on board. She is coming up with some really cool makeup effects for the video. We also have a good friend and talented model, Jasmine Lynn appearing in the video. Jasmine has numerous credits to her name including working with Dirty Girl Photography, Youngstown Bikini Maids, Tag Motor Sports, BM Wear, Top Pair Magazine, Bonita Magazine, to only name a few. Check out Sabrina and Jasmine Lynn on myspace: http://www.myspace.com/Jasmin_Lynn and http://www.myspace.com/articus Like the 'Ashes to Dust' video, Zane Hershberger will be doing the cinematography and he and I will be co-directing the video. That said, I leave you with the 'Brian Froud inspired' hint:D I currently am working on writing and arranging songs for the second album and plan to begin studio work in the summer. So far, the songs being written and/or arranged are Elements, Danny Boy, Dulaman, Carcosa, Heart Song (formerly titled Heaven), Antarctica, City of Gold (The Journey), Midnight Club, I Sing the Body Electric, and Poseidon. There are also more areas on the internet to find me: All Music Guide, Fanpop, Wikipedia, and Chickipedia. You can also get wallpaper and myspace layouts on Wallpapergate, VIPWallpaper, and Layout.fm (there will be new wallpapers on the new website as we finish it). One other thing that was kind of cool and surprised me was that my wallpapers on VIPWallpaper where in the Top 100 most viewed list on the site along with wallpapers of Amy Lee, Lacuna Coil, Mariah Carey, Ricky Martin, and Usher. Pretty neat! Finally, we also have a little touring this month in PA and NY: May 10 Borders Bookstore (Pittsburgh Mills) Tarentum, PA 1:00pm Free Visit http://www.bordersstores.com for directions and location May 31 The Annex New York, NY 6:30pm $10.00 We will be sharing the stage with other bands. Visit http://www.theannexnyc.com or http://www.tiffanyapan.com or http://www.myspace.com/tiffanyapanmusic for more info Well that's it for now folks. Hope everyone enjoys the rest of their weekend, Tiffany P.S.- A much appreciated but belated shout out (sorry about that) goes to David Brady of Pennsylvania. David joined my street team via myspace:) Thanks so much!
SongVault.fm Finals, CDBaby Bestseller, music video update:)
Apr 21, 2009
Hi everyone, I'm happy to announce that "Ghost" moved up yet another tier on SongVault.fm! SongVault fm is divided into four tiers: Auditions, Showcase, Finals, and then a permanent place in the station's directory. Back in January, "Ghost" was promoted from Auditions to Showcase due to a high position on their charts. I've just been informed that "Ghost" has been promoted from the Showcase to the Finals in their Adult Contemporary category. It already sits in the top 40 at number 30. Please help "Ghost" earn a permanent place in SongVault fm's station airplay directory by voting at my profile on SongVaultfm. Simply paste or click on the ;link below: http://www.songvault.fm/artists/tiffany_apan.htm Sign up for a listeners account, vote, and hear some other great bands too:) You can also help "Scarborough Fair" make it up into the Showcase for International/Celtic. It has sat at number 2 for quite sometime and should be on the verge of being promoted. "Warrior" was also just added to the Auditions in the Adult Alternative category:) More great news: "Poet" is #37 on CDBaby's top 40 bestselling albums in the New Age/Progressive/Alternative categories. We're almost finished with the 'Ashes to Dust' video and will be starting the video for 'Scarborough Fair.' We plan to have 'Ashes to Dust' out by June 1 and I'm meeting with Sabrina, the makeup artist for the 'Scarborough Fair' video on Thursday to go over some possible makeup looks. Here's a hint: we'll be looking at Brian Froud books and others like it:) Well, that's all for now, folks:) Have a great evening, Tiffany Apan
Celestial Voices, Wikipedia, tour photos, new comp CD
Apr 11, 2009
Hi all, More news: A blog entitled 'Celestial Voices' did a feature on my album 'Poet.' Celestial Voices is run by Marnold from the Phillippines. Celestial Voices features the softer side of music like classical, easy-listening, soft pop, and showtunes. Artists such as Opera Babes, Sarah Brightman, and Michael Ball are featured on here. It's interesting to be featured in a goth or metal site of magazine one week and an easy-listening one the next! I'm not complaining though:) A big thanks to Marnold. Check out Celestial Voices at http://www.celestial-voices.blogspot.com I also have a page on Wikipedia now:) It looks like it's still a work in progress, but it's there:) Also if you haven't checked it out yet, I have new tour photos from Cherry Hill NJ, Greensburg PA, Buffalo NY, and Pittsburgh PA posted in my RoadJournal on my website: Visit http://www.tiffanyapan.com or http://www.tiffanyapanroadadventures.blogspot.com I also found out about being featured on another comp CD. Ray Dorsey of RaysRealm does his top 10 every year. As some of you know, my album 'Poet' was featured in his top 10 of 2008. Ray also makes a comp CD for his top 10 featuring one song from each album in his top 10. "Warrior (Soldier for Myself)" was featured on this CD. It went out to all his readers who sent in a top 10 list of their own. Please support RaysRealm by visiting http://www.raysrealm.blogspot.com Well, that's all for now. Have a great holiday weekend:) Tiffany You can also stay abreast at the following sites: http://www.tiffanyapan.com http://www.myspace.com/tiffanyapanmusic Or sign up for the official newsletter: http://groups.google.com/group/tiffanyapannewsletter
