MICHAEL (ACE OF BASS) CABE on bass guitar and harmonies adds a steady solid rhythm foundation. He is a third generation musician and shares music from both sides of his family. "My mom played the piano in church and my dad use to sit around for hours it seemed, and play old Johnny Cash and Tennessee Ernie Ford tunes to me on his dad's Gibson box. I couldn't get enough of it. Santa Claus brought me my first guitar when I was eight."
In the 70's, he switched from guitar to bass and hasn't looked back. "At the time, I was the only one in the band that owned a bass." The thing he loves the most about his Fender Jazz is that "shes always in tune when I pick her up."
He's played from Hollywood, CA to Key West, FL and north to Chicago and has played everything from blues and rock to that "fonky stuff." He has played with members of The Atlanta Rhythm Section, the Outlaws and the Steve Miller Band, and his accomplishments include opening for many international recording artists such as Shenandoah, Doug Stone and Sammy Kershaw.
"As for equipment I try to keep it simple. My main rig is a Peavey
Nitro 750 watt head with 4-tens and a 15. I also employ the help of Sansamp for that added little umph. For smaller venues' I use my SWR working man's pro and a V-Tone BDI-21 preamp."
After moving to Southern Cal, Michael passed his first audition with a forming band named KORE. Today, they play corporate and private gigs with casino's and studio work on the horizon.
