Our biggest family trips would take place in the summer when we would travel to Piarnu, Estonia, which was located on the coast of the Baltic Sea. Piarnu had some of the most picturesque beaches that I had seen with the crystal clear water washing against the bright yellow sand on the shore. Similarly, the Laurentian mountains in Quebec in December gave an idyllic view of winter paradise where the gently falling light snow caressed and enveloped the pine trees before falling and rolling on the steep covered hills. The Smoky mountains in Tennessee in the middle of October, captivated the traveler with the natural beauty that only comes during the transient fall season, with the myriad of colors taking your breath away as you ride up the high rolling hills. As a contrast to the pristine and pastoral surroundings of Piarnu, the Laurentian mountains and the Smoky mountains in Tennessee, the hot summer nights in the Montreal provided a carnival like atmosphere with the sounds of live jazz, ethnic and rock music charging up the streets of this great cosmopolitan city. The streets in Montreal were bustling with the sight and sounds of thousands of revelers, of all ages basking in carefree abandon to the pulsating sounds of live music.
