PRESS RELEASE – 22nd June 2007 THE BIG RIVER BAND NAME CHANGE Gerry Power and Renee Sears have decided to change the name of their country rock band from The Big River Band to ‘THE BIG RIVER BANDITS’ after threats of the possibility of legal action by another band claiming to have had the name for the past 24 years. We have been nominated for The 2007 UK Country Radio Awards. One of our songs is being released on a compilation CD in The USA in August, and our debut album is to be released shortly. Bearing this in mind, we feel that this is the best course of action to avoid complications later on. We would like to apologise for any inconvenience this may cause to the DJ’s, radio stations, agents, promoters, venues and public who have already done so much to help us. May we please ask our DJ friends around the world to announce our name change when they next play our songs on their shows. Our myspace page URL is now .com/thebigriverbandits instead of .com/thebigriverband. All website URLs will gradually be changed to that effect. The band can be found on the search engines by searching for either name. We would also like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for their support.
