I first began to play the guitar in earnest (after discovering how damn hard it was to play saxophone) and play the drums in junior high school. In grade 8 I was "recruited" to play drums & percussion for the senior high school concert and jazz bands as well as my junior high concert band. Although I did take a handful of guitar lessons from a very good player and teacher, I'm mostly self-taught (that explains it, you say...). I played guitar and drums in various bar bands through much of the '80s, so my hair metal pedigree is solid. :-)
I decided to pick up and play the bass guitar in the summer of 2004, after having played very little of anything for the previous twelve years or so. Had I known how much fun I'd have and how natural it felt to play bass, I would have done it years ago! Now, it's my preferred instrument. I still play guitar a lot - all guitars on my music are performed by me, as well as lead guitar on a couple of Urban Bunny tracks - and I'd love to play drums a lot more but I just don't have the space at home for a kit.
My main gig is with a classic rock cover band called Crosstown Traffic, and I still occasionally play with some good friends in Kitty & the Cool Cats and Urban Bunny, just not as often. As well as my own stuff, I love to write and record music with my good friend - and talented songwriter - Terry Taylor, who can also be found here on SoundClick. So thanks for listening and helping keep the community alive!

Thanks to Terry

My friend Terry created some thumbnail pics for my songs that were lacking same. I am very grateful and appreciative of the time & effort. Good friends are hard to find and I think I'll keep this one :-)
So what's new!

Not too much, actually. Playing, writing, collaborating and trying to keep busy. And spending too much time on (eek!) Facebook!
My newest toy...

Is an Ibanez SR406 (Canadian model of the SR506) six-string bass. A friend of mine asked if I had an acoustic guitar, to which question I replied, "Yes, a black Ibanez AEG10, why?" My buddy said, that he'd be willing to trade me, straight up , his SR506 for my AEG10. I said, I'd think about it. Since I am primarily a bass player, and I can buy another acoustic at a later date, I am pretty sure that this wee critter has found a new home! I'm also ready to trade in my black Godin A5 fretless five-string for an acoustic bass, as I plan to do a lot more smaller club shows this year as one half of a blues duo. Also, it's a lot more conducive to busking than any of my electric guitars!
My biggest fan

This is my biggest fan, for whom no one is a bigger star and a more wonderful alpha, than yours truly. Sure, you may question her taste in music, but let's be honest... she knows that the guy with the guitars feeds her!
The Oilers traded my main man...
Feb 28, 2007
Ryan Smyth was traded to the New York Islanders in exchange for (no offense) two "prospects" and a draft pick. The heart and soul of the team, the team leader in goals, points & determination, is out and two young players who are widely viewed as periphery players at best are in. This year was obviously almost completely lost, given the record of the Oilers, but this move signals that management has officially given up on this year, and probably on next year as well. Oh well, maybe there's a song in there somewhere...

I just added another demo song, called "Cowboy Song." This is the second result of my collaborative effort with my friend, Terry Taylor. Please check it out and remember that my vocals are just a guide - we'll have an actual singer perform the vocals when we record the final cut of both Cowboy Song and Cold Blue Steel (as well as the others that will follow).
Everyone create a great day!
