My Music Note

Hi you all! It’s been a while, but I am still singing and songwriting! I still perform and recently, did a songwriters showcase where my songs and performance were archived in our libraries local history files. I am honored to have been chosen for this tribute. I am focusing on trying to get a few songwriter cd’s recorded, and then to submit them to publishers, hoping someday to be a “real song writer”. Thanks for listening, and may all your days be filled with music!

Hi All, I thought I would tell you about my new partnership with two talented musicians and writers I met in the JPF songwriters forum The internet has given us the opportunity and technology to work with people that we would have otherwise never met, and it has been a very enjoyable experience for me. Kaw Creation is the combination of Mark Kaufman from Mineapolis, Letha Allen (me, lol) from Michigan, and Geoff Wood from Austrailia. We have collaborated online to cowrite 3 songs so far, and plan to do alot more. We have just finished a Southern Rock song called "Linda Lou". I wrote the lyrics and melody, along with some help from Mark Kaufman to tighten it up, and Mark did all the music and lead vocals and some harmony, I added some harmony, Geoff added drums and mixed and produced the song. If you would like to take a listen to the mastered version, you can hear it here: http://iacmusic.com/artist.aspx?ID=129785 Thanks alot for listening, and have a beatiful day, Letha

Hi all, I had a great day yesterday. I went to a festival in Manchester Michigan, where I was entered into a songwriting contest. I took along two good friends and great musicians from the bluegrass band the "Hillrays", Jim and Mark, who played fiddle and guitar with me on my original song, "The Riverside". It just about made me cry when they called my name as the first place winner, lol. I got a beautiful gold embossed certificate, a blue ribbon, $100 dollars, and got to perform on the "big stage" later lol. I hope to get them to record it with me in the near future, and I will let you know when I get it up so you can listen to it if you want. There were lots of great musicians there, and I spent the time waiting for the big stage jamming with some bluegrass pickers and picked up a wonderful bass player to go on stage with us. He was great, Eddy P, from Toledo Ohio. I also had the opportunity to meet one of my My Space Friends, Roger, at the festival. You just never know who you are going to meet lol. Nice meeting you Roger. So, a big thanks to Jim, Mark, And Eddie P. It was a beautiful, wonderful day. Letha
