i sugest roland, korg, pioneer for your stage presentation gear.
for your software i also sugest protools, cubase & waves.
when you look into gear look for "midi compatable equipment", because each software has the midi intergration capability.
midi will be the handshake you will need to move your sounds from software to anologe and anologe to software.
you can use cubase for editing & mastering your complations.
if you previously use hands on gear ie) keyboard, gutar, drums ect..
you can also look into soundcards which have several jack inputs for mic, rca, phono, ect. once that is acomplished you can use cubase as a multi level recording station and intergrade a personal touch to your complations. :-p hope this helps and i wish you much luck!
