As a fan of Rockabilly since I heard the opening chords of Carl Perkins' Blue Suede Shoes, it's great to know there is quality groups like 706 Union Avenue out there playing that good old jump-jive sound! I have to say that as one of the premiere MTV generation, I chose groups like Stray Cats (My Favs of All Time), The Heartbreakers, The Georgia Satellites, George Thorogood, Steve Earle, Billy Idol, and even John Cafferty and the Beaver Brown Band (Eddie Still Lives!) While other teens were trying their latest break dancing moves, wearing parachute pants, watching the Thriller video over and over again, and claiming that New Wave was going to replace not just the other Rock & Roll sub-types (I don't feel New Wave was R & R) but Rock & Roll itself, I was riding my Honda Rebel to Hell and back working to put money into my "project" car, a 1961 Ford Fairlane. As the song goes "those were the best years of our life," Thanks for reminding me.
