Radio Waves
Sep 27, 2009
How's it going, just completed a song called Radio Waves. The song gives you eletronic vibe with hook that found its influence from "Feel it in the Air Tonight" by Phil Collins. I I kept the lyrics in the two verses simple, along with Flow/rhythm. So if you find yourself singing along to the song then the strategy during song writing.
You'll notice a bridge instead of a thrid vesre, which leads in the final hook, then fades to a conclusion.
This theme song was written during a motivational period in my life; you'll hear me mentioning my wife, daughter, and I even spoke of my current place of employment, as referenced the cube environment I work in. I hope this inspires all listeners to follow their dreams, You can comment here or on anyone of my social networks. If you'd like to reach me directly. e-mail me at jc-rhymes@hotmail.com.
Take Care for Now. God Bless.

New Song "B Urself"
May 15, 2009
Writing this Blog at work-lol; I keep minimizing the page so the boss doesn't see me, but since he likes my music he'll probably see this and either laugh, or book me. I'll keep you posted on the outcome of that. Anyways, as we proceed. AS you can see, since the last blog, I've posted a song called "B Urself". The artist singing the song is "Julie-Jeanette"; a talented 21 year old female pop singer out of San Antonio, TX. I am the featured rapper on the song (JC-Rhymes), yeah that's me.
I began writing this song last summer.Orginally I planned on recording my self as the main vocalist, or having my buddy Carlos Javier sing it, but the writing and feeling changed once I discovered "Julie-Jeanette". After hearing her sing my writing leaned differently. We sat down and decided this was going to be an anthem or a commercial song that appeals to everyone (not only girls), but to everyone in general. Writing the song was a tought task in its self, since most of my writing involves alot of rythym, and rhyme.
I was able to recreate a much better version of the music after listening to a left over rough draft recording that some how managed to survive the hardrive crash. Immulating the music was not an easy task. I worked on the drums first, using Reason 3.0 and my Korg Triton as a midi keyboard. I did lots of tweaking to the drums, then added a Bright piano, along with some pre-chorus syth strings I found in Maltrom, added some bass with the subtractor, then tracked everything down for protools a recording session.
Recording was, um, well, besides running into a few technical difficulties, the recording session was a success. Julie Jeanette is a great listener and a quick learner, which made things very easy on my end. Once we were done recording, I did the some vocal editing then I left the song alone for a bout 3 days or so then proceeded to the mixing stage. The mixing stage did not go well at all, the memory on my computer was limited, so I kept having to minimize my computer usage in several ways before actaully beggining my mix, that took about a couple of weeks honestly, and provided lots of frustrationg. The mixing is finally done. If you any questions on what I used for vocals, beats, melodies, ect. e-mail me and join the mailing list. This Blog is really becoming an ongoing rambling fest, so I'll stop here. I'll keep you guys posted on where this song is heading in future blogs. Maybe I'll enter some song writing competitions, or maybe I'll get discovered so I can get a real website ad do what I love full-time. I'll keep dreaming till it becomes a reality. Stay Tuned.
Have a great memorial day.

New External Hardrive- Wooh!
Feb 9, 2009
Welcome to the Blog,
For those that know or want to get to know me, I'll make a long story short. As a producer in this digital recording world the last thing you want have happen is some type of hard drive failure. Well,um, it happened to me, and happened at a bad time. I lost everything but I'm glad some of the stuff I was working on was not released; I'll explain more in the next installment. So news for now is, I learn from my mistake. I bought an external hardrive (350gb), and I am ready to work on music. Having an external hardrive has sped up the recording process- less latency is a good thing. So I'm getting back into making music/ producing/ writing/ recording.
