Afrofusion, as the name implies, is simply fusing other genres with Afrobeat. The heavy presence of Afrobeat is coupled with anything from pop to reggae, dancehall to jazz, with endless possibilities. From influences of Zimbabwean, Nigerian and South African traditional forms and Western Dance Styles, it is a fun motivating aerobic dance class syncopating movements to various styles of music. Afrobeat is a mixture of traditional Nigerian music, Ghanaian music, jazz, highlife, funk, and chanted vocals, coined with groovy percussion and vocal styles, popularized in Africa in the 1970s.
