...and it's not. Once you get past the treasure hunt for a studio base, and your willingness to move from the same spot you've been in for the last 14 hours, you too will get over the rookie blues of Jamaican studio-life.
I've been a freelance recording engineer for 10 years and producing the last 3. You would think it was longer, but not everyone wants to give you credits you think you deserve.
Only thing, don't assume the same business practices will yield the same results here as they would abroad. I can't stress it enough.
On the flip side, there is something to be said "dance a yard before you dance abroad"... truth in whispers i tell you
