.Well you want to be in the music biz and you feel you have the skills to do what your doing, well that all good if your doing it for a hobby. Most people think that since the know how to rock a party as a D.j or as a M.c or even as a producer that they ready to jump right in and that is what most tend to do.

1) The first act of doing business is to make sure what ever you are doing that you make it legal, so you should start with your local clerks office to get started in the right direction cause this is the first and most important step in business. Here is a small note about doing business most of us are doing biz by yourself because we want to be our own boss, so when you make it the legal move it should be an LLC. this form will help you be legal and allow you to operate as a major corporation but with a limited liabilty when it comes to if somebody was to file suit on you they cant go after your personal things just the company. If your looking for more information try sba.gov or legalzoom.com just to start.

2) There are a number of ways to get your name in the mouths and minds of people but you have to figuar out what your target market is. After you figuar out your target then its up to you on how to get seen. Most people us a website or they us fliers to hand out but if your a DJ, rapper, or producer and you have a site trying to sell your self in the world email is the way to go. You can build up your fan base in this manner and this is the greatest tool going today. So start with that then let the ball roll.

3) Last but not least is networking, this tool is the next most powerful tool in the chest. When you meet somebody exchange information and stay intouch, the more you let folk know what is going on with you the better, also you might be able to let a fellow Dj, or producer know of an opp in the area, and let a Mc know about up coming events where they can show case there skills at anytime. So with that being said, use the gift that god gave you and that is your mouth.

Hip hop to most is a movement to a culture, it is a way to express yourself through not only music but through design, art, dance, and many other ways. In the past some said it would never last but since 1986 it has touched many people in many countries. Now fasr forward to the new era you have such stars as Jay- z Kanye West Snoop, T,I Young Jeezy Rick ross Drake along with the whole YMCMB camp, in the past there was Pac, Biggie, LL cool J And the godfather himself Russell simmions. There are so many who paved the way for us in the game we just need to show much love too those guys.
