It was tough but I finally have finished my Senior Recital November 2nd. The recital was a complete success. I'm still shocked as to the standing ovation I received. It was so unexpected that I didn't even prepare an encore! A large amount of freshmen came to my recital as well as friends and my sister. Songs of particular interest was the String Quartet, "Black Widow", flute solo, "Finality", and the harpsichord solo, "f(x)". My voice really came out this time in all of my music. Perhaps I will do another concert after school is out.
My Junior recital was a complete success. All compositions from there are on this site (soundclick.com/thunderwave), plus all compositions ever performed at Cornish. My Senior Recital will be in the fall of this year. I am scared that it may be too expensive and finances are grim. This semester has been tough. I have too many ideas to put on paper in time for people to practice them. If only I had time to practice them. Unfortunately most of my works aren't solos and I try not to stick to piano. I should write a nice Koto solo. This time is not the time for new pieces. I must refurbish my pieces for my Senior recital and get done with it.
I was learning about the music lattice in college and was informed about two major issues of tuning keyboards. One was the syntonic comma and the other was the great diesis. I always loved dissonances so I wanted to explore the great diesis and progress in thirds. I drew myself a music lattice representing all the notes I wanted to use on my koto: BTW, this piece will be performed Live someday.
