We knew when we started this band it would take a few months to get it right and it has. We are making good progress and continue to be successful on SoundClick with a live recording we did Feb. 25th at the Oyster House in Studio City.
Much has changed since then and we have shows coming up at the Oyster House in the next two weeks. For specifics go to our facebook page, Bitch From Diva, and click like and you will get all the latest news.
Thank you.

On The Rise Magazine Interview. Bitch From Diva

She Rocks!!!!!
Here is the interview:
It’s a bird, it’s a plane! No it’s Bitch from Diva here to save us all! At least that is what the California band claims when they spoke with OntheRise. The name it’self is a bit confusing at first glance and perhaps a bit controversial as well, but there is a meaning behind it yet. Jay Pallen and La Vonn Jones make up this new band with a unique sound. Perhaps their sound is so unique because they are not from earth. The two are from planet “Diva” and are here to save earthlings by ridding us of our culturally deprived ways. As you can tell, it was very interesting and fun interviewing these two.
Bitch from Diva says they are the best rock band in the universe. ”We will out work, out sing, and out drink the competition,” says Jay. The band only formed about a month and a half ago, but already they are receiving astonishing numbers on the website soundclick.com. They describe themselves as the White Stripes without the drums. Currently this group is seeking out more members to join, particularly a bass player and a drummer, but are content right now as well.
La Vonn has been singing for a very long time and her voice is very smooth and mellow as if her throat was laced in silk. This voice is accompanied by talent of Jay, who is trained classical guitarist. Together, the two make sweet music, not to be too cliche. Their most recent album is a bit different than what you would think of as an album. This is because all the tracks are live performances. It is very rare to hear that on an album nowadays, and it is quite refreshing. The days of Earth Wind and Fire, a great voice, and real musical instruments seem to be dead, yet Bitch from Diva are determined to revive it.
They do say that one day, when they reach that point in their music, they will begin to record tracks in a studio, but say right now this is what they prefer to do.
The album, Live at the Oyster House, was made up some old songs that the two did independently and some that they did together. They say today they both come together to creatively put together a masterpiece of a song. ”Jay is a genius,” says La Vonn, while Jay says La Vonn, hands down, has “one of the best voices he’s ever heard.” The two fight like cats and dogs, but really compliment eachother, in turn flipping out pretty cool songs.
One thing that attracts you to this band, besides the name, are the song titles and stories. La Vonn says she is a story teller and with her music she likes to tell the truth. Most of her songs are about things that could happen to real people. The songs are a bit edgy, which the group says it does rub some people the wrong way, but they rather tell the truth regardless of how people feel. An example is a song titled “200 men,” about a hoe. The female in the song is caught up on sex and been with more than 200 men. ”She’s a hoe,” says La Vonn, “And people ca relate because we all know at least one hoe.”
Other songs like, My Friend ED, a song about the little blue pill, and S.A.R.G.F (She’s a really good fuck) have caught the attention of listeners. Bitch from Diva says people have even walked out of their shows before because of their edgy songs, which they say is okay, because that’s them.
The groups goal is to climb until they reach the top. Right now the claim to be in the beginning stages and are taking it slow at the moment and focusing on their music. Bitch from Diva says they are facing many obstacles right now such as financial hardships, but Jay goes on to say that a real musician who claims to love what they do would do it for free.
This band is definitely going to set some trends that maybe a couple of other bands can pick up, but just know it started here, with OntheRise
