I need a job!
Mar 17, 2010
I have always desired to be involved in the Industry in one way or another. I grew up listening to various genres as my father worked for Capitol Records, and always had an abundant supply of demos on hand, which were constantly being played. Among the first Artists to peak my young interest were Billy Bland, The Beatles, and Helen Reddy. At around age six or seven, I remember playing Billy Bland's 45 titled,"Let the Little Girl Dance", over and over until I committed all the words to memory. With my hairbrush as my microphone, and the footbridge in our yard as my stage, I would sing it over and over again to my father who was always too preoccupied with car maintenance (and drinking), to notice. I had the "hairbrush in the mirror syndrome" for years to follow.
I never became a singer, but my love for music has been tightly interwoven throughout my life.
I am now a new music manager to several Artists, and have only just begun to try and secure jobs and gigs for them, (am still laying groundwork, etc... so no money for them=no money for me).
Meanwhile, I'm unemployed and need to secure a day job. Some Titles in areas of employment that interest me are: Gatekeeper
Head Hunter/Talent Scout
Creative Liaison
Administrative Assistant
Event Coordinator
Advertising/Sales/Marketing
Any position in film credit categories that I'm qualified for
Telecommuter (for related online work)
Writer, Editor (preferably music magazine articles, reviews, and musician bios...but just about anything you need there)
