He was a dear friend of mine and so many others. I miss hearing him play and playing along with him.

If love were a rock would it sink through the ages
to depths unknown
or settle on some obscure ledge
Would the bubbles of its fate rise to the surface
to be recognized by a fisher of men
All hands to the deck, let loose the lines
with trebled hooks weighted down
Cast the nets wide lest we return empty handed
where our children await, mouths gaping and dry
Alas, time passes slowly as the currents run deep
Love tumbles along through rough crevasses
and sandy basins
to be washed ashore on an isolated beach
A child wanders by, the son of an ancient fisher
Spies a shiny smooth stone glittering in the mornings light
