First, I wanna apologize for not making my Monday schedule, but I was camping. Second, I gotta say that Brinson's "Escaping Me" CD is INCREDIBLE!!! My copy just got here yesterday, and I'm VERY impressed, it has the perfect feel to it, it has a sort of soul music feel to it in the begginning. I'm also extremely pleased with ReadyWriter's "Poetic Freedom Mixtape"; make sure to get your copies at www.godchaserz.com. YES! I went to Spirit West Coast '08 on Saturday! My only regret is that I wasn't there on Thursday for the whole thing, but it was AMAZING! Superchick and Kutless were just incredible, and the Newsboys closed the show. There was so much energy in that place, it was just so awesome, that would have been the time for the rapture to happen, everyone was just so on fire for God.
Well, this is a short blog, but I wanna say thank you for reading it, there is other stuff you could be doing, so thanks!

What up yall, it is PEACE BACK AGAIN! Yes, here for another Monday blog. Speaking of which, what happened yall? I only got like two comments on my last blog, SE and my buddy Garrett. I rest my case, I'm just gonna keep on rollin anyways. I gotta give a shoutout to my buddy Tim, he's worked so hard on a site and both of us would really appreciate it if you checked it out. For those of you that don't know, my parents decided to enroll me in a six week "algebra academy". I am happy to say that this is my last week and I will be going to Spirit West Coast this Saturday! After that, I will be gone for two weeks on a couple of summer trips, which is fun. One more thing before I start, thanks to all the folks who commented my review on Jovan Mackenzy's "Jihad", lookout for two other GCE CD reviews from me in a day or two.
Anyways, on to some real news, Brinson's CD "Escaping Me" is dropping a week from tomorrow! Make sure to pre-order your copy at www.godchaserz.com! There is something I would want to leave open to you readers to comment me your thoughts on. I'm gonna leave you with this and like I said, I would like some comments, this is a post I made on my youth group's group on Myspace:
NOTE:In my post, the word "Church" refers to the Christian churches and all Christian denominations
This is a two part discussion; first, who here likes Christian Hip-Hop? (also called Gospel Rap, Christian Rap, or Holy Hip-Hop) Second, why isn’t Gospel Rap accepted in the Church? This goes for Christian Rock also, but it seems that Christian Rock is more accepted than Gospel Rap in the Church. The CHURCH of all places?! Why does the Church not embrace Gospel Rap? Is it because the negativity of secular rap comes to mind when the term "Rap music" is used? Is it because the Church likes the traditional worship songs better? A buddy of mine brought up the subject of Gospel Rap on a Pentecostal forum, and this is one of the responses he got:
"I understand what you’re saying. But the medium DOES matter. Rap and HipHop are probably the filthiest, most obscene forms of music in existence. We don’t have to use the devil’s tools to promote our message.
There was nothing wrong with the words the demon-possessed damsel was speaking in Acts 16:16-18 -- in fact, they were a call to listen to the apostles’ preaching; but the words lost credibility in light of how they were packaged. =)"
Another buddy of mine brought up a good point:"Some people have problems with needle injections for medicine but it is such a useful tool" His analogy(spelling?) is so simple, yet so true. The Word of God is still the Word of God whether it be read behind a pulpit or rhymed to a beat, it’s still the Word. Also, as a Christian emcee myself, I find Gospel Rap to be very powerful, but I could be considered biased :p.

Alright, before I get into anything, first I gotta give a shout out to Tim. Alright, "And here we go...." Yessuh! I saw it! The Dark Knight, with the late Heath Ledger, I saw it Sunday! It is quite the movie, I'm actually planning on seeing it again, it is THAT good. Heath Ledger really plays his part well, it's so sinister and yet everything he does is funny, I can't explain it! Now onto my blog.... Oh one more thing before we start, Big Dusty, WHERE YOU AT????!!!!!! I haven't seen you around in a LONG time man, c'mon!
I'm feeling depressed yall. Folks on KJ Board already know, but basically I'm at this point with religion where my denomination (I'm Catholic) is not spiritually feeding me. It's mainly that, but I also just don't agree with some of the stuff in the Catholic Church, not to say that other denoms don't have flaws The Catholic Church just doesn't give me the spiritual food I need. I feel more tired after Church than I was when I came in there. If I'm gathering to praise God, I want to be invigorated afterwards, not wanting to take a nap. Now mind you, my youth group makes Church a bit more exciting, but that doesn't solve one of my problems: I have unanswered questions about the Catholic faith that when I ask, I get shut down by strict Catholics who had it pounded in their brains since they were born, and they don't help answer my questions at all. But really my main problem is the Catholic Church isn't breaking it down for me, I just get confused and/or fall asleep when a sermon is being given, they don't get me excited about the Word and dive into it. Alright, I think I've upsetted folks at my youth group enough already, so I'm signing off here. Oh and anyone from my youth group who does happen to be reading this, PLEASE COMMENT, I WANNA HERE YOUR THOUGHTS on what I said, I DON'T CARE IF IT'S HATEFUL, TYPE A COMMENT!

First off, I wanna give a big shoutout to Tim for letting me post this up on Christian Hip-Hop Central (www.christianhiphopcentral.com OR www.ch-hc.com) and to anyone who's reading this from there. I also wanna thank Tim for the comment last week and also another shoutout to my friend Garrett for checking my last blog. Now that all that is done let's do this!
I would like to address all the drama that blew up last night on KJ Board. Man, what has that board come to?!! What does the word community mean? That word is so non-existent on that board it's sad. The only real group of friends on that board would have to be Straight, Tim, Sierra, KJFan, Peek, Jimmy, myself, AC, Mess... maybe I'm wrong, but that's my take on the whole thing but anyways....
The Dark Knight comes out this Friday, man that will be exciting! I'm sorry, but Heath Ledger is gonna outshine everyone in this movie! It has nothing to do with the fact he died, just that it's Heath Ledger! Playing the coolest bad guy ever! Alright, you gotta admit that you are just gonna see it cause Heath Ledger will be playing Joker! OK, in case anybody is wondering, I'm not gay, I just have nothing else to talk about at this point.
Brinson's album "Escaping Me" is dropping soon, that will be incredible! GodChaserz itself is doing a lot of big things this year, ReadyWriter's got a new mixtape comin, Jovan Mackenzy and Young Fitz both have CDs coming out! I'm ubber excited, cause I'm the biggest GodChaserz fan ever! While I'm going on about that, lemme encourage everyone to find their stuff on Itunes and check it out! OK, I finally thought of a topic. Tonight at my youth group's bible study we sort of talked about pride. How many times in life do we throw our accomplishments in other's faces? I tend to do that, I don't mean to, but I do. I think it's human nature really, to show others our accomplishments and brag about them, cause we want others to appreciate our work. Nevertheless, that doesn't make it alright. It's okay to want folks to appreciate our work, but not rub it in people's faces and hold our achievements up high as if we are so much better. Did Christ go around saying "I'm the Son of God, haha loser!!"?? No, so don't boast, but when somebody compliments your work, say thank you. And another thing, don't be upset when follks don't acknowledge your work, not everyone is gonna dig it, but you gotta roll with it! That being said, don't get all cocky and self-righteous when somebody compliments your work. OK, I know I repeated myself, but I just want y'all to know, alright? Swallow your pride, humble yourself! And yes, I know it's hard, but we gotta step it up Christians!
