Since Soundclick has updated their system with member profiles, bands who get the "Promo Song of the Day" and frontpage "Spotlight of the Day" are pretty much guaranteed to hit #1 in their genre. One of the main reasons this happens is because a lot of people with personal profiles do not change the setting on their "Page Design" page to play songs from their stations, or do not have stations. Because of that, songs are played on those pages randomly, selected from "Promo Song of the Day" and "Spotlight of the Day" so this means that if you want to help promote your favorite artists on Soundclick, be sure to change the setting to either your favorite song or one of your stations that plays the artists you like the best. This will enable you to do your share in promoting the music you like to hear on Soundclick! This will also help your favorite artists climb the charts!!!!

I have been involved in the music industry for over 30 years, as a musician, producer, sound engineer, songwriter, roadie, etc. I do not listen to the radio, since the production of most music on the radio has been stripped from the artists and placed in the hands of producers that take over the music, and have taken creativity from the artists. Soundclick offers an alternative to radio by allowing Independent Artists a place to showcase their music. I truly believe there is much more talent here than on the radio...artists who write from their heart and not concerned with having that #1 hit on the radio, and keeping up with "Today's Sound" according to radio. Much of the music that I will play is to me, timeless...not trendy, just great music and will still be years from now.
