Journey of the Exile
Mar 12, 2010
I've been tossing around a few ideas over the last month trying to get the creative juices to start flowing again. I'm still having issues writing lyrics. I have ideas, I just can't put them down on paper. Or when they do get put down on paper, they suck. They seem lack that emotion that I'd like to portray. So my idea is to revisit songs I wrote years ago. I have notebooks, and folders filled with songs I've been writing since I was 14. So I've decided to go back and find the better songs that I've written and put music to them. Obviously I have hundreds if not thousands of songs so I'll be breaking them down into multiple digital albums. My goal for this is two things.
1. I want to show how I've grown over the years. I also want to see for myself how I've grown over the years. I have no doubt some of these songs I haven't read in years. So this should be an interesting adventure to say the least.
2. I'm really hoping this may kickstart my creativity and my long lost love of writing lyrics. I used to be able to write my hours, and have multiple songs that I was working on at the same time. I'd really like to recapture that ability.
So wish me luck with my new project entitled "Journey of the Exile,"

What's New
Feb 13, 2010
I haven't been working on much music lately. I have been focusing more on my son, and other writing ventures. I've got a series of stories I've been working on, and a graphic novel idea floating around.
One story is a series of short stories from the mind of a serial killer called "The Terror of the Night Chronicles." These stories are so shocking and graphic that I've been banned from posting them on forums.
The second story is centered around a man who's dad just died, and he reflects on what happened between the two of them that caused a huge riff between them.
The third story is about a guy who is sent back to his 15 year old self to relive one day that is supposed to be a turning point in his life. However the man that sent him back may have more in store for him then he knows.
Other than that I've been spending him time with my son. It was his one year birthday lasdt month. I got him a baby piano that he loves. Actually he seems to have the beginnings of a love for music. He loves all kinds of music, and will stop doing whatever he's doing if music comes on TV. So he might be the future of Gothadelic.

Whats the Difference?

Seriously I've been asked that questions from people all over the place since I announced that I would be starting a new music project. Even though I'm GothaDelic and I'm also Ahmed Duster I've always had an idea where I could have multiple creative outlets.
Ahmed Duster was born out of my desire to have a more personal outlet for some of my songs. Ahmed Duster will be more stripped down and down to earth. I will still be doing GothaDelic but my output for GothaDelic will be more jams and funk-oriented.
