RIAA Trying To Shut Down Internet Radio
Mar 6, 2007
The RIAA is trying to shut down Internet radio. Visit savenetradio.org and write your Senator today before it's too late. Don't let your musical choices be determined by large corporate interests.
I found this out on Super Country Radio.com today, this RIAA have set up such a tax that most Internet radio stations could not possibly afford to operate!
You know what the problem is don't you? Yup some of the independent's songs and music heard on the internet, is good enough to compete to what the RIAA and other big corporate music interests want to dictate to the population what they should hear and like and of course purchase!
If they can get their greedy teeth into the independent radio stations on the internet and force them into dropping out by sucking the revenue out of them by a high tax on each song that gets multiplied by listeners they can get rid of their competition and I'll bet they'd have a fresh batch of coookie cutter songs and artists for us too!
If this works for the RIAA in the United States you can bet it will be copied in Canada as well! That makes it my business!
AS I said I don't like to get involved with politics, but this kind of politics I do get involved in!
When it comes to some $100,000 a year suit trying to control my livelihood by pushing me and my counterpart musicians out of a media that they don't want to compete with!
They want to be able to put the gate keepers up again and don't let them fool you by saying that they are going to put an Independent airplay policy on mainstream radio!
It will start all over again, this is just a ploy to get the internet competition off their backs!
It's just like the 30% Canadian content rule they used to have on Canadian radio! You know I could count on the fingers of my two hands how many Canadian artists that helped!
It was only the most prominent of wealth and the best suck ups that benefitted from that!
It will be the same with the Independent rule on main stream!
Write to your senator and make it clear that you want Internet Radio to be able to operate without unfaur taxes and bias!
Free speech and media that is your choice is your right, not the apple for the big corporate machine!
Music is an art for people not for machines!
