I am please to announce that a song I co-wrote and featured on is nominated for a Canadian Radio Music Award (https://www.cmw.net/cmw2009/awards_crma.asp). The awards will be handed out on March 7th at a fancy lunch during Canadian Music Week and will be hosted by Sass Jordan. The song is called “Fallin In Love With You” by Ish featuring yours truly and was written by Ish, Rob Wells, Christopher Anderson and moi. The song is nominated in the BEST NEW GROUP/SOLO ARTIST (DANCE/URBAN/RHYTHMIC) OF THE YEAR CATEGORY. Canadian Radio Awards nominees are based on airplay on radio stations across Canada. Radio stations then get to vote for their favourite. Nominated along side Ish are Danny Fernandes, Kreesha Turner and Di’Ji. Ish and I will be attending and I’ll give you the inner scoop. I am excited to go because I attended as a nominee for 2 Radio Awards in 2006, presented in 2007 with Jdiggz, and it’s always a great time. To hear the song check out Ish’s myspace (https://www.myspace.com/thenameisish) or my myspace (https://www.myspace.com/coryleemusic) . Muah
Sadly the airing of new episodes are coming to an end here in Canada and have already finished elsewhere. I loved working on Instant Star so much!!! Here's a little more Instant Star trivia for all you junkies. Karma’s dog ChiChi was actually named Taco and sadly passed away right after we wrapped the 4th season. I fell in love with Taco and it actually inspired me to buy my own Chihuahua which I named Quincy Bones!!! My hair in the Chinese outfit was actually 2 massive hairpieces. They were really heavy and my head was hurting like crazy by the end of day. Wardrobe made the matching outfit for Taco. The egg that was thrown in my face was real and was made the night before and was cold and extra wet so it would stick to my hair. Yuck :( The song that Karma sings "Ghost of Mine" was my favorite song that I got to sing on the show. The dancers in this episode (Danny and Tuch) were my actual dancers from Dodat Entertainment (https://www.dodat.com/) and can be seen on most of my videos, like on the video for Ovaload (https://youtube.com/watch?v=A7BkqZvEptA). The zipper in the dress I wore while performing in the episode actually broke as I was dancing so they had to sew me in!!! lol!! The dress Laura wore at the casino was actually her own!! I loved it on her and I know she got it at bebe. You can watch the mini for Ghost of Mine (https://youtube.com/watch?v=Q48oejzh1nc). It was so fun to make and I loved working with Cassie and Laura. It was actually filmed on the final day of shooting Instant Star. It was a great last day and I'll never forget it!! This past week I had the privilege to attend a special eTalk taping honoring Linda Schyler (one of the producers of Degrassi and Instant Star). There were special messages for her from some big name celebrities like Will Ferrell and the Jonas Brothers. Plus they showed clips of all her television achievements. I had a great time and the special will air later in August. Check out the eTalk slideshow at https://www.slide.com/r/pHmtdx6G7j-CjiJFBMeD3dJlPQPDWy9B?previous_view=mscd_embedded_url&view=original I also had the pleasure of opening up for Tiffany in Pittsburgh last Friday. I loved her song "I Think We're Alone Now" and it was a blast to see her perform. After the show I painted the town red at some of the local clubs and had a great time. But waking up early to catch a flight was very hard. Check the Pittsburgh slideshow for some behind the scenes pics from this event too at https://www.slide.com/r/9Xk_z-JM7z9PvvBK-SPvi-340FEPWA-j?previous_view=mscd_embedded_url&view=original
