First Installment
Nov 26, 2007
To begin, I don't even know exactly what a blog is other than a place to write my own random thought s on whatever interests me at the moment. This is my first entry and it deals with a favorite hobby of mine, HOME RECORDING, and how it has led me to another part of "life on the internet".
Once you begin recording at home it is only natural you look for a place on the internet where you can store and share your music. Once you find that place, you may want to explore the forum area and see whats up with your "comrades"...(comrades in its loosest definition). I belong to several different forums and each has its own characteristics. One is full of amateur musicians who believe they are MUCH more than that, another is full of tech types who believe they are the best producer and engineers that have ever walked the planet, another is actually new hobbiest and a bit more humble than the others and the last one is a mish-mash of peeps working with new software that sounds like kids playing with a new video game.....
The first forum described is probably the most interesting in a social aspect. All of the forums have their different areas and within these areas, it seems, there are 10 to 15 regulars who pretty much make up most of the conversation. Of these, there are a handful who believe they are far above the rest in talent, technical skill, math, english, physics, marketing.....well, just about everything. The forums become especially interesting when "turf" battles begin.
