CONTINUED C OMCLUSION Summary. For illustration purposes … lets say that you are god. You are only one (1) person … right? You create everything with your word, you speak it all into being. You watch your creation (your people) for thousands of years and see that they don't really understand you, and thus can not really have deep relationship with you (example is Job 42:5). You wish for them to better understand you, so you must become one of them so that they can interact with you. You then overshadow Mary and she gives birth to your son (Jesus, the son of God) and you (being spirit) are IN him (just as you are INSIDE of all born again believers). Jesus is 100% man and 100% God. As a man he hungered and thirsted and prayed, but as God he did miracles and forgave sin. Jesus said that my Father doeth the works and that we are one (John 14:10). After his time on earth, he must leave so that he may return as the Comforter (the Holy Ghost) which will teach us all things. How can I have Jesus in me? To receive the Holy Ghost (the Bible way) we turn to Acts 2:38-39, “Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.” God bless.
Did Jesus Pray to Himself? RH Elmore Let's begin with the foundational scriptures ? And Jesus answered him, The first of all the commandments is, Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord: (Mark 12:29) I, even I, am the LORD; and beside me there is no savior. Tell ye, and bring them near; yea, let them take counsel together: who hath declared this from ancient time? who hath told it from that time? have not I the LORD? and there is no God else beside me; a just God and a Savior; there is none beside me. (Isaiah 43:11 & 45:21) I said therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins: for if ye believe not that I am he, ye shall die in your sins. They understood not that he spake to them of the Father. (John 8:24 & 27) Did Jesus pray to himself? God is spirit, and that one spirit (Father) spoke everything into existence. Man could not see the One God and did not understand Him (example is Job). Father needed to become flesh and walk among his creation (his people) so that we can touch him and handle him and ask him questions and to better understand him. Father being spirit, overshadowed Mary and she gave birth to Jesus, thus the son of God. When Jesus prayed, he prayed to the spirit (Father) that is both in heaven and IN him. Those who have the Holy Ghost have the Father IN them (the one true spirit) and when they pray, they pray to the Father in heaven, who is also IN them (just like Father IN Jesus). The Father was IN Jesus when he was coming out of the water at his baptism, while simultaneously descending like a dove, and speaking those words from heaven in Matthew 3:17, ?This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.? God does not jump out of one person in Mexico to go and jump into another saved person in France, he is IN all saved people at the same time, and was in all three places at Jesus baptism while still being the one true Spirit who is in heaven. And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even the Son of man which is in heaven. (John 3:13) After the resurrection, Father locked himself into Jesus and is the ONLY God we have. The only time when Father left Jesus was at the cross, the eternal Spirit can not die. (Matthew 27:46-50) Where does the Holy Ghost fit into all of this? First let me say, for this example, that I am a husband, son, and father ... but there is only ONE of me. I am not three separate persons. I can stand in the same room with my wife, son, and parents and there would be not confusion as to who I am, or as to how many. Now lets walk through the scriptures... John 14:16 And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you forever; Pause here for a moment. The Comforter is the Holy Ghost. Lets continue... [17] Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you. Pause here. The world can not see him nor know him "But Ye KNOW HIM". How do they know him ... he was not yet sent. Jesus is saying that the one standing here talking to you is the one that will be IN you. The one standing here talking to you is the Holy Ghost that will dwell IN you. Want more proof? Lets continue... [18] I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you. Summary.
