this local musician that I go to,

this local musician that I go to,
to record my songs
said he thinks its great ,
that i am finally
trying to do something
with the songs ,
that he helped me to write. . .
(but) ... he said,''
I have one request ...
that you never tell anyone that
I was the one who helped you
to write them.
( ... even tho i couldn't hit
a string or pluck a note
to save my life ...)

to present yourself as the only
author/performer or you can
make up fake names for the drummer,
bass and guitar. That's no problem. """
so i have agreed , and have deleted
his name from my page...some people!

I was thinking about what my friend
was saying , and I get it. He was saying
, if I am to be judged by my music
someday, I want to be judged by
music I created from whole cloth!
And not by music somebody just
'brought in' , and I tailored
( it's like the difference between
designing a dress and altering a dress. )

So one day,
my friend , whom i record with . said
* '' bob , the way you sing these songs,
they always sound like Woody Guthrie songs,
but then you tell me, that you want,
a rock feel, to the songs!
which gives me a lot of freedom.'' *
So I told him,
he's got total freedom!!!
We rock out!
it's the most fun i have all week!

I don't play an instrument...
notes and chords have never
made any sense to me.

I'm hoping a band or artist
will hear one of my songs,
and want to do their version of it ,
live out in the clubs!

I DROVE A BUS
FOR EIGHTEEN YEARS.
( most of it for a non-union place,
but now
i have a union job!!!! with some protection)
..
. Then I got into an accident , outside of work
, and I spent almost four months in a
hopsital bed! ,
..., ( twelve days in the Melrose-
Wakefield hospital,
and then three and a half months,
in this rehabilitation hospital,
then i slept in my living room ,
till i got strong enough to climb the stairs)
... Now Now I'm a customer service agent.
i help people at work , navigate the system .

*I LISTEN TO my songs ,
OVER AND OVER.
SO FAR THAT'S AS FAR
AS I'VE TAKEN IT.
I'VE TRYED DIFFERENT THINGS
,...(MAILING MY cd'S OUT ,
HANDING THEM OUT AT WORK,
AND STUFF LIKE THAT ...
NOTHING YET ) .................

so i answered the ad
and it was this local musician
who has turned his '
'closed in porch', into a recording
studio.
and for one hundred
dollars per song, he turns my songs
into finished CD's.
