I figured that as I haven't written a blog for a while, I should update some things! Well, where to start? First and foremost I've finally got around to playing live with enough GOOD material. I've played the Marr's Bar several times, usually performing Pussy Cat, Lucky and Everlong which always goes down well. A few months back I played an Elvis set; Don't Be Cruel, Baby I Don't Care and Always on my Mind which went down very, very well. (The set was a practice for a university performance) On a minor note I've revisted Lucky and altered how I play it, it sound a LOT better now so I'll record the new version at some point in the future. Recently I've played at the local SU (aka The Dive) playing about 13 songs. It went really well. The crowd was different than I had expected, but to all those who came, and to a particular few, thank you so much for the support! I'll try and get some pics when I can. I played: - Shorefront - Pussy Cat - Monday to Friday - Time of Your Life (Greenday Cover) - Take Your Time It's Almost Midnight - I'll Keep Searching - The Naked Song - Baby I Don't Care (Elvis Cover) - Lucky - Breakfast at Tiffanies (Deep Blue Something Cover) - Jellybean - Little Red Shield - Everlong (Foo Fighters Cover) If you haven't noticed I've got plenty of stuff that I'm going to record in the future, hopefully making use of the Uni's recording studio, but I've not been round to that yet. I'm planning to play at a few more places in Worc such as The Cellar Bar and Bossa Nova, getting myself and stuff out there more. What else? A few months back the Drama Society asked me to perform some music for their Comedy Night that was held at a theatre in town. I wrote some comedy music that I'd never done before for the show and played them, and thankfully they were well recieved! Out of about a thousand attempts and 7 sketchy songs later I finally had a set that I was happy with: - Super-Mega Insurance - The Naked Song - Your Husband is Stupid I cocked up a little bit on The Naked Song in one of the performances but apart from that the comedy show went very well, thanks Drama Crew! Anything else? I'm currently writing some new things and looking for new covers to learn, so any suggestions would be great. Apart from all this there's been more happening, but that's all that comes off the top of my head at the moment. Thanks for reading, keep you posted! Tim.
Nothing much to say, I've not got any proper recording program yet so no songs coming up at the moment. I've not been writing recently, sort of biding my time until I get something good ;) thanks.
Ok, so I've just started two new songs that I'd really like to record, but there comes the bad news. My laptop which I record everything on is in for repairs at the moment, which means I can't do anything! :O! oh well. It'll give me time to polish up the other songs so I'm ready to record straight away when the time comes. The two new songs are: 'Little Red Shield' - a song about a little wooden toy shield I used to play with as a kid, which I found the other day. It's a very slow sort of song, and lyrics are going suprisingly well so far. But I'm not finished yet. untitled - A song with great chord progression, I have lyrics at the moment but no ending and no name, so we'll see how that one goes. Thanks for checking!
I've just started a new song that so far is called "Idle". It's a story song for my joke band 'Everyone But Myself'. The song so far is based on something that happened recently, but I've changed a few details; The story is about a girl who gets wasted at a party and collapses into sleep, meanwhile everyone else decide it would be fun to cut her hair. Whilst they do this, her 'faithful' boyfriend doesn't do anything to stop them, and just laughs along with them. Some companion! I've yet to see how the song ends, so we'll see how it turns out ;) As regards a cover for my main solo band, I'm thinking of a Chris Cornell cover, but I'm undecided which... Anyways, that's all!
