MeloManics
MeloManics are a peculiar band with a very peculiar sound. The mix of rock and dance is penetrated with gitarriffs and phat live drums, completed with synthesizers and samples. The press describes their live performance as: "MeloManics, are refreshing and make you wanna dance" and "One thing is clear: MeloManics make things rock!"
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
HET BEGINHET VERVOLGHET HEDEN Begin 2002 vond er een gitarist
wissel plaats. Hierna is er hard gewerkt aan nieuw repetoire en werd er veel opgetreden. Van poppodium tot jeugdcentra en van (buiten) festivals tot aan een modeshow in Parijs.
Op dit moment wordt er hard gewerkt aan een nieuwe demo die in november 2003 uit zal komen. De demo ".... From the Factory" bevat vier nummers en de presentatie hiervan is het startsein van een nieuwe tour, nieuwe set, nieuwe
show! Deze show zal veelal in samenwerking zijn met de Alkmaarse DJ Il Disco ( CIA UC-072), waarmee een verdere brug geslagen wordt tussen dance en rock.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
MeloManics play about 25 times a year, in the surroundings of Amsterdam. Highlights are, playing in the Milky way Amsterdam with the Belgium techno act Praga Khan and playing on a Fashion Show in Paris!
Your musical influences
the music finds itself somewhere inbetween Rock and Dance.
It's a strange mixture with influences mostly, from Electro(pop),(Italo)Disco, New Wave, Gitaarrock, Hip hop and Drum 'n Bass. From Kraftwerk to Primal Scream and from N.E.R.D to Red Hot Chili Peppers.
