Melodie Dawn Loewen
My name is Dawn Loewen and my husband, Kent have two children who keep our house hopping from morning till night! Kent farms and I was a teacher before we had our children. My dad led me to Jesus when I was five and I have grown to love Him with my heart and desire to please Him in all that I do.
I grew up in a musical family in which my dad only believed in Southern Gospel music. My family and I sang at many different church events all over Canada as well as parts of the US. I love to sing Southern Gospel music because of the powerful message given about Jesus and His wonderful grace
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
During the summers of 94, 95, and 96, I attended the Stamps/Baxter School of Music, now called the Ben Speer School of Music, in Nashville Tennessee and had an extremely meaningful experience with the singers and musicians there. This experience opened up future opportunities to sing in other places in Tennessee as well as Arkansas and Kentucky. In the year 2000 I was excited to produce my first cd and I am hoping to produce another in the near future.
In the last few years I have experienced some important lessons about God, His goodness, and His sovereignty. My desire is to encourage others with the blessed truth that God is good in all circumstances, whether pleasant or painful, and that He never will let us down, even if it seems He has forgotten us. His joy is our strength and He alone can make us strong. He is our Creator and, therefore, knows all that we need. He is all we need!
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
I sing and play piano or use soundtracks for my concerts
Anything else?
Most concerts that I have done usually last about 1 hours, although I could do longer if requested (or shorter). I sing to background soundtracks, as well as playing piano myself, and Kent usually looks after all the sound. During my concerts I share my testimony and anything else it seems God is laying on my heart. During the last few months I have felt Gods hand directing me to inform churches of my availability.
