Mellifluous Hiphop Crew: Composed of 4 original MC's with different styles, fused together to come up with a straight-edged, no-frills style of Filipino Hiphop. M.H.C. developed its sound from the fusion of different musical influences of each member. Miko G having Rock n Roll influences, Pong having Hiphop roots and later on ventured into different musical genres. Became the vocalist of the now-defunct band Bigote, one-half of the Electronica duo, Sedentary Souls, and other musical fusion side-projects. Gauch growing up listening to old skool OPM hiphop and Bone thugs n Harmony, and Krayzie-V with his classical piano training and his Wu-tang clan influence. M.H.C. brings to the table a new brand of hiphop music in the Philippines by incorporating different styles and musical influences to hyped up, head bobbing beats and old-school style of Hiphop. Thus creating a sound like no other, making hiphop heads agree, and non-hiphop heads appreciate the hiphop artform. Also, MHC aims to uplift the quality and the appreciation of Hiphop Music in the country by collaborating with other artists from different genres. Also, by increasing the Positivity in its repertoire of songs, MHC wants to lean away from the more prejudiced brand of hiphop that incorporates dissing and female defamation. M.H.C. wants to uplift the Hiphop music scene by providing the listeners a new experience in Hiphop Music artform, at the expense of no one.
Band/artist history
MHC released their E.P. entitled Independent on April 2006, Independently. M.H.C. was also featured on the compilation cd called the 5 Stars Productions Mixtape also on the same year. Also in 2006, MHC's head honcho, Paolo "Pong" Posadas released his solo effort "The Prodigy E.P." over the internet for FREE, being one of the few artists to push the limits of distributing music in the country. He believes that music should be heard by everyone, even if it means not earning a single centavo for his efforts. In 2007, M.H.C.'s head honcho, Pong Posadas, ventured into the Indie Label scene by putting up his own Independent record label named "FUNKWORX PILIPINAS" which includes artists from different genres, namely Poetic Society, a tagalog Hiphop Group and Blue Ray Itch, an Electronica artist, and was inaugurated by the release of one of the most successful Mixtapes of 2007 "The New Movement Mixtape Vol.1", which featured Hiphop Industry heavyweights such as Syke, Jayflava, Trapp of Dice & K9, Slick n Sly Kane, etc, and a slew of up and coming newbies like Poetic Society, Straight Arrow etc. Later on the same year, Poetic Society jumped in the Funkworx Pilipinas bandwagon and became the first group to be put up on the roster of the label. We are busy finalizing our full-length album to be out soon before the year ends.
