Mini-bio:
Me & Maryjane began in 1993-1994.
It's basically the name of my solo act, just me and the guitar (who I named Maryjane).
The music is fairly folky, but has extended into rock, jazz and country-ish territories at times. As you will see if you listen to my songs.
That's pretty much the low down
Thanks for dropping by,
Luca

Long bio:
For the past 15 years, Luca Fantigrossi has been performing in various projects in varied genres from folk to jazz to ska to rock. Introduced to music in elementary school where he learned to play the recorder, he went on to study music at Loyola High School and Hudson High School as well as Vanier College. He played guitar in the HHS Jazz Band and percussion in the HHS Concert Band as well as sang in the choir at all 3 schools. He has had private lessons in guitar, bass, piano and saxophone. Since graduating he has dedicated himself to music full time. He has had the great fortune to play in bands that have toured across Canada, the US and the UK. He also had the chance to record with Howard Bilerman at the famous Hotel 2 Tango (the man and studio behind Arcade Fire's critically acclaimed Funeral album). He has also recorded with Tim Doyle (formely of Gangster Politics and The Planet Smashers) and Simon Angell (who has gone on to international success with Patrick Watson & the Wooden Arms). Luca is presently working on his debut solo album (put on the back burner for many years due to his heavy involvement in other bands). He has written a couple dozen original songs over the years and looks forward to finally releasing them.Band/artist history
Me & Maryjane started many moons ago in 1993-1994 when I played my first show. Maryjane is what I called my guitar, hence, the name Me & Maryjane. Since then I studied jazz at Vanier College, played in numerous bands, General Rudie (ska) in the 90s and quite a few rock bands in the 2000s such as the Paper Heroes, the Hooks, the Broken Hearted, Broadcast Radio and Desert Owls. I recorded my first solo album with Tim Doyle (formely of Gangster Politics and The Planet Smashers, turned sound engineer shortly after leaving The Planet Smashers). Guest musicians include Simon Angell (formely the guitarist of Gangster Politics, who has gone on to international success with Patrick Watson & the Wooden Arms) Kurt (formely trombonist for The Planet Smashers) Paloma O'meara (cello) and Eleuthera Diconca-Lippert (back up vocals). A new album is due out in December 2009.Have you performed in front of an audience?Upcoming Shows:
