Biography With the eyes of the world on the Motor City music scene, Detroit's hip-hop community warrants a full-on stare. Leading the forefront of the industry's multi-platinum future in the genre is MC HUSH. Immersed in the seminal influences of hip-hop, Hush honed his skills at Maurice Malone's Hip Hop Shop alongside Eminem and producer Jay Dee as an onlooker in the background. He soon joined forces with Detroit's Uncle Ill forming Da Ruckus and producing bouncing hits like "We Shine" featuring Eminem and "150 MC's" laying the foundation for legendary collaborations with Royce Da 5'9", Paradime and Black Magic Crossing. Real-life crime scene dramas provided by his Homicide Detective father and his life on the rough Detroit streets created just the right canvas for Hush's brilliant lyrical brushstrokes. With hot showcases at SXSW (2003), CMJ (2000/2001), The Winter Music Conference (2000/2001) and stints on The Warped Tour (2000), Hush is a much sought after live performer. Opening for Nelly, Ja Rule, Dilated Peoples and Public Enemy has further elevated Hush's undeniable star power. He is also proving his versatility and expansive marketability by landing a starring role in the upcoming independently-released film, The Passage, by Detroit underground filmmaker Daniel Casey-VanHout, scheduled to be released in 2005. A charismatic personality, Hush was tapped to judge Detroit Channel 95.5's (WKQI FM) Friday Night Battles- weighing in on the talents of up and coming Detroit rappers. Additionally, Hush headlined the 2003 Detroit Music Awards, and was bestowed "Outstanding Hip Hop MC" honors. Hush's unsettling honesty combined with the wit of Will Smith and the smooth suave of LL Cool J make him a leader of the pack of hip - hop thoroughbreds. "If you want to know what it's really like to be a rapper in Detroit... buy my CD." -HUSH Hush garnered national attention with two showcases in 2004. The first being in New York at Don Hills and the second being at L.A.'s legendary Viper Room where Hush was noticed by Geffen representative Thom Panunzio. Two months later Hush signed on the dotted line. Now with major backing and a strong team expect Hush to be a major imprint in the national spotlight. Hush has been hard at work recording his first major release, "Bulletproof". His work ethic and determination will set him aside from the rest.
