Jeffrey Kenneth Mallison, (Born January 18th, 1988), best known for his stage name MC FOX, is an American Rapper/Songwriter out of Detroit, Michigan. He was originally inspired by the movie 8 Mile. Fox's biggest influences were Eminem, 50 Cent, and Chamillionaire. Jeffrey's path to success has been riddled with obstacles, starting with his lingering disability he has battled since birth.
In 2013, the Oakland Press published an eye-opening article on Easter morning about Fox and his disability. In Jeffrey Mallison's early years, his doctor diagnosed him with having a speech impediment. He was born with a stutter which has hampered him throughout his life. In his high school years, he was required to get up in front of class just like everyone else. A two minute presentation could take double or even triple the amount of time to get his point across. Jeff couldn't even carry on a conversation, let alone get up in front of a class of 30 people. This is when Fox was truly born. He found a way to express his feelings in a way he never imagined could be possible. Who would think a person who couldn't even present a presentation without stumbling upon his words, could perform his music in front of any amount of audience. Fox finds his outlet and comfort zone when he is on stage expressing true passion and grit. It was a way for him to communicate without the rigorous torture his stutter brought him.
Troubled Thoughts was his debut mixtape that he began sharing with the world. His style and creativity really started catching peoples attention right from the beginning. Fox began working on his debut album, F.O.X. World, which was released December 21st, 2013. He started receiving feedback from people that lived in countries he had never even heard of. Over time, more and more people began to show up to his shows and support his music. Some people asking him, "Wow.. is this really you?" Others saying, "You'll never make it". Fox used this feedback as motivation to perfect his craft and truly began putting 110% into his music. There were various features on the album, including Funk Volume's Dizzy Wright along with the Don't Funk Up Our Beats 5 Contest winner, Street Light. The album was recorded over the span of 15 months and contains 17 Tracks. Only 500 hard copies of the album were printed, which all were sold. Along with 500 digital copies on iTunes.
Since the release of F.O.X. World, MC Fox has been traveling all over the Midwest performing and continuing to build his fan base. His next project, Troubled Thoughts 2, will be released April 27th, 2015, on Datpiff.com. This will be the second installment in his mixtape series.
