I finally figured out this net shit. Basically, I've been writing since 12, producing/performing since 16 or 17, and Im 24 now. I want to bring something different to the mix, and I put my heart and soul into my work. You'll be able to feel that, if I do my damn job. I'm an MC and money isn't my biggest concern. My highest priority is getting heard and known. Fuck money.
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
Basically, Ive been representing HipHop since 2nd or 3rd grade. I know there's a lot of wanna bes and fakes out there. But KNOW THIS: I have strived to rep this correct from the drop, I would never in any way misrepresent this culture, or exploit it in any fashion. Fuck that. I got my shit going back in '98 with cyphers in downtown Phoenix, at a record store that doesnt exist anymore. And I've been doing Open Mics for about 2 years now.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
I do live mic battles/cyphers/open mic nights all over the metro Phoenix area. I've been taking a break for a while, cause I need a damn job!!! If you live round here, help a starving artist out, huhhhh??
Your musical influences
I have tons of influences. I love HipHop obviously...but people like James Brown, Jimi Hendrix, Louie Armstrong, and Kurt Cobain greatly influence me. From these people's works I've seen how you bare your soul, without looking pretentious. Inside HipHop...I love Talib Kweli, Mos Def, all the Spitkickas, The Roots Fam and Okayplayer scene, including Common, I felt Rawkus strongly before they fucked with my man Phil the Agony foully...that's my type of shit.
What equipment do you use?
Cool Edit Pro, and Acid Pro 4.0 are what I use at home, and in the studio I use all top level shit: MPC1200s, Korg boards, et cetera.....but I don't fuck with "techno/house/rave" music...that rainbow shit aint my scene.
