I use my beat up laptop, a Presonus Audiobox audio interface, Steinberg Nuendo & a $25 condenser mic. Real live. Ask around.
I only use my beat up laptop, Presonus Audiobox audio interface, Reason 3.0.4 (I have 4 but I refuse to upgrade until I have to) and a $80 Yamaha keyboard from Best Buy. It's not the equipment, it's the guy using it that matters.Anything else?
