MAXFIELD HAVE STEADFASTLY BEEN PICKING UP PACE ON THE LIVE MUSIC CIRCUIT, AS A BAND NOT TO BE MISSED. THEIR DYNAMIC SET LEAVES THE CROWDS BAYING FOR MORE. THEIR BRAND OF MUSIC, IS SO UNIQUE, NOT HEARD ON THESE SHORES FOR QUITE SOME TIME. LET ME INTRODUCE YOU TO THE WORLD OF MAXFIELD
Band/artist history
MAXFIELD a london based band playing the most unique sound of music not heard on these shores for a long time. A blend of Anthemic Psychedelic Rock/Tripsoul/Gritty Skeletal funk best describes this band, with vocals that draw you in and spit you out with every story the song tells. UNIQUE. .
As one reviewer said: This band has a touch of Nirvanaesque going on, sprinkled with Lenny Kravits Meet Red Hot Chilli Peppers and oozing Asian Dub Foundation but with a female attitude IT ROCKS **** '
MAXFIELD formed in 2003 when Singer/Songwriter Valerie Maxfield teamed up with Julian Chown producer/composer and laid the foundations. With later additions of Marky Mark on guitars and Clive Jenner on Drums, MAXFIELD was born.
MAXFIELD have steadfastly gone from strength to strength from their first gig 7th April 2006 at The Native Tongue, in Ealing, UK, to present date, leaving an enigmatic imprint behind. Their Individuality sets them on a different par, leaders of their own style from the influences that brought them here.
Their debut single STUCKLIKE is now available from their THEIR AUDIO DOWNLOAD SHOP on their official website. WWW.CLASHUK.COM/COMETOMAXFIELD. PLUS remix by DJ Barney Rumble. WICKED, ABSOLUTELY BLINDING.
YOU can also hear further tracks from their debut EP 'So IS WHAT' out later this year, which WON'T DISAPPOINT: Something for everyone is on this album.

Catch MAXFIELD live, DON'T be the last to find out what the fuss is all about.
Have you performed in front of an audience?
YES, WE PLAY LIVE IN THE UK. WE LOVE IT. THE SPECIAL MOMENT WAS OUR FIRST GIG BACK IN APRIL 2006. AFTER THE YEAR WE HAD, WITH THE LEAD SINGER, FALLING ILL AND WAS TOLD SHE WAS DYING, BUT MIRACULOUSLY SURVIVING, WE NEVER THOUGHT IN A MILLION YEARS THAT THE DREAM OF BEING A FULL BAND WOULD EVER MATERIALISED. SO THAT MOMENT, WHEN WE WERE ANNOUCNED ON STAGE AND THE FIRST CHORDS WERE STRUCK, WAS A MONUMENTAL AND EMOTIONAL MOMENT FOR US ALL. WORDS CANNOT EXPLAIN IT. AT THE END, THE LEAD SINGER BURSTS INTO TEARS, BUT IT WAS FOR JOY MORE THAN ANYTHING ELSE.
Your musical influences
I've been influenced by some many people, because I love wailing crashing guitars, in rock music, but then I love the smooth lilt of accoustic guitars. I'm also a massive motown and rare groove head, this has helped to curve out what music I've decided to produce. but I would say my contemporaries would have to be Billie Holliday, Ella Fitzgerald, Nina Simone, Al Green, the Rolling Stones, but my influences are The Clash, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Lenny Kravits, Nirvana, Blondie, Eurythmics, Paul Weller, The Jam, Aerosmith, Maxwell, Jimi Hendrix Tina Turner, Incubus, MIles Davies, Herbalizer, Otis Redding, Garnet Silk, David Bowie, Simon Garfunkel, so much more, too many to mention. But importantly myself.
What equipment do you use?
My Voice and guitar
Anything else?
I have had the honour and pleasure to work some truly tremendous talented artist in my musical life, now I'm even more blessed to find a group of guys who have decided to come together as one with me and make MAXFIELD what we are right now. Here's to the future and more of it.
As I said, nothing matters now, just getting the music heard and good health, cause everything else is a bonus.
I'm not gonna brag and boast about who I've worked with or who's done what? Music is power. Let the ears be the voices.
