Mauri Yolanda
This 5'7" mocha-brown complected young lady has a look that belies both her age and her experiences. Although she is an unusually upbeat, and bubbly person, her life has not been all smiles. Her writing and singing reflects that. She has a rough edge in her lyrics that makes people sit up and take notice. Whether she's singing about love, heartache, bad breakups, worthless men, or the simple pleasure of a relationship every word is arranged in a new and fresh way. Mauri's voice reflects the four years of constant training in opera and jazz. It is smooth and clear, yet can blow you away with it's power. Her preferred style is R&B Hip-Hop, but don't be surprised if you hear a little rock, because this woman is full of surprises both vocal and lyrical.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
I don't play instruments, but I do sing live and I truly love it. My favorite part is when I connect with someone who's really getting into the song, both the beat and the lyrics. It makes me tingle.
