Matt Kraemer
Hi folks! I write songs since the 90ies as well as in German as in English language. I prefer (and I love!) the “classical style” of songwriting, which means most of my songs and melodies are based on guitar. Almost my complete songwork is about love, peace, development of the individual, but even romance shouldn’t come off badly in my music - and in my life!
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
My first love was my guitar! With her I started playing as a street musician, before I founded my first Band. For many Years i've been gathering musical experience. At the moment I’m producing an album, where I try to follow some new paths in arranging and presenting my music.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
In the late 80ies up to the mid 90ies I used to play live, especially with two phantastic musicians of my region, where I live. Later on, when I started songwriting, I unfortunately was neglecting playing live, I did only sporadicly. But I hope, it will chance soon, when I’ll have finished my new album "Patchworkfamily".
Your musical influences
In the 70ies there were coming up Bands such as America, Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young, Doobie Brothers and so on, which were fascinating me and which therefore have influenced my music and my style. But James Taylor, in my mind, he is the greatest: his music, his voice, his personality. For some time past I’ve been even influenced by a friend of mine, Joe Dietz, a very experienced musician, who is supporting me in arranging and producing my songs in a very delightful way.
What equipment do you use?
I told you, I love my guitars: Takamine (12 string), Hohner Concert Guitar, Seagull, Fender Strat.
