Like the saying, Masala has not merely been a band of 5 but an experience for our members in re-inventing stereotypes both in the local music industry but also within ourselves. Masala has been a fusion of talents, a mixture of spices so to say, creating music to continually touch and invigorate the lives of our listeners i.e. we plan on them being EVERYBODY.
Masala is a 5-person band (see -picture:Gavin Rees drums, Joanne Suh vocals,percussion, Bobby Uhlenbrock bass,guitar, Aravind Menon vocals, Andy Shih guitars, vocals) with home-base in Cincinnati OH. Were from everywhere in the US of Ain fact,our backgrounds are both international and from all over the United States and that diversity has played out in our musical capabilities.
The sound is pop/rock the three-person harmonies are what we love a lot about our music. Weve also released our first record a couple of years back Whos the Monkey Now (2000)which was featured in Cincinnatis Our Music local festival and CD. Larry Nager, music expert for the Cincinnati Enquirer gave us a flattering review of our CD. We have been featured on 97.7 WOXY radio shows Local Lixx and Homebrew . We are looking to grow and expand our music to touch all communities
