The One The One

Christian Rock

Brief history: I've been writing songs since 1978, spanning various genres. Most tend to fall into the pop/adult contemporary category. For the past several years, I've turned my focus more to Contemporary Christian music; it's what I enjoy listening to, and it gives my music some real meaning and purpose ... at least to me ... and hopefully to those who listen to it. Looking back now, I see religious connotations in some of my older material, as well.
Band/artist history
See intro.
Have you performed in front of an audience?
I currently perform regularly as part of the worship band at my church. I've been in other bands and duets in live venues before and would entertain doing some of that again.
Your musical influences
Too many to name all of them. My biggest influences are currently groups like Mercy Me, Caedmon's Call, Casting Crowns, FFH, Steven Curtis Chapman, Avalon, Michael W. Smith, DC Talk and Chris Rice. Some of my more prominent influences earlier on were James Taylor, Fleetwood Mac (and more specifically, Lindsay Buckingham), Jim Croce, Michael McDonald and Peter Gabriel. Even earlier, I had a wide range of influences, including Rush, Pink Floyd and Led Zeppelin, even groups like Seals & Croft (who?). But really, I think (or hope) my style is somewhat unique. I just play what I enjoy playing whether it adheres to any particular style or not.
What equipment do you use?
I try to keep it simple: acoustic and electric guitar; MIDI or sampled drums; MIDI bass; some piano; and any other sounds that go well with the song.
Anything else?
Thanks for checking out my music!
