Mark Schuessler
I'm a songwriter from Lockport, NY, USA. I started writing songs on a Heit acoustic guitar at age ten, and continued throughout my angst ridden high school and college years. I gave up songwriting and pretended to be an adult for a couple of decades. Now my kids are done with college and I can stop pretending. Nobody was buying it anyways.
I recently started writing songs again, concentrating on songs with strong melodies that people can hum along to on their way home from work. The whole introspective, angst-ridden thing is long gone. Anyway, I can still feed any introspective tendencies by working on my musical-drama-in-progress, which has the cheery title, "The Death Book."
Have you performed in front of an audience?
I don't play or sing in public. I write songs. Once I was humming while I was standing in line in a store and the guy in front of me turned around and asked me to stop.
