Mark Rittman
The music here is just me. So far I haven't really collaborated with anyone. I have an acoustic guitar, sing, and play keyboards. The songs here have been written in the last ten years or so.
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
I like to write and record songs. I wrote my first song for creative writing class in high school. During college I sang and travelled, throughout the United States, with several small predominately-vocal ensembles. I recorded a CD with one group, and recorded for the radio with another. I also played guitar and keyboards with a rock band. Since then I have written and recorded a lot of songs, but mostly on my own.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
I play keys in my church's worship band. I sometimes sing solos while I play guitar or piano. I like to be a worshipper and hope all my music flows from that.
Your musical influences
I studied classical music composition in college, so that has a big influence. Another major influence is the music I hear in church or play with my worship team (hymns, gospel and contemporary Christian worship music).
What equipment do you use?
I have a 1.2 GHz machine with 768 MB of memory. It is a bit old, so I am limited to 16-bit recording. I have a Samson 16-bit, USB condenser microphone, and a drum set designed for a child to learn on. Other than that, I record with old Seagull electrified acoustic guitar.
