Mark Holley Project
Welcome to the Page For Mark Holley, Keyboardist/Guitarist/Writer from Norman, Oklahoma.
This is a solo project with all instruments written on keyboards with the exception of acoustic guitars and some lead guitar work. Absolutely no loops are ever used!
Several songs have been re-worked with Mark Alexander taking on the bass tracks and the lead vocal tracks. BIG THANKS to Mark!
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
Played with several top-notch bands in Oklahoma for many years and opened for several touring groups including, Steppenwolf, Pat Travers, Leslie West and Mountain, Fabulous Thunderbirds, etc.
I studied piano classically from an early age and then moved to classical guitar. Majored in Music in College for a year and discovered that is a HUGE commitment i didnt have time for (regrets)...
Currently this is an individual effort for me, this solo project being a collection of tunes not performed live yet with the exception of two of the tracks.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
I play in a great cover band in and around the Norman & Oklahoma City metro area and sit in frequently with several other groups.
Your musical influences
Elton John, Ben Folds, Bruce Horsby, Billy Joel, Emerson Lake, Palmer, Rick Wakeman, Jordan Rudess, etc...
What equipment do you use?
Currently i use the same gear live as in the studio, and i'm a bit old school too...
Yamaha SY-85 synth, Yamaha S-30 synth, Roland Jupiter-6 synth, Roland S-750 sampler, Roland S-10 sampler Korg RK1000 remote keyboard, Alesis Microverb, Ibanez UE-405 analog processor, Sunn 12-channel rack mixer, Peavey KB4 amplification, Charvel acoustic guitar. For home-recording I use a G4 mac and Digital Performer 4.5 with M-Audio interface
Anything else?
This is a "works in progress", and is still changing a little here and there. I wanted to get some feedback on the material before I final master the product. The lyrics, the graphics, and the musical compositions are finished and copyrighted, and all rights are reserved.
